Bio

Dr. Tony Hampton is a Family Physician who for 19 years has treated patient with multiple chronic conditions. He is a board certified Family Physician, a Certified Physician Executive (CPE) and has earned a MBA from the University of Phoenix. The condition which has had the greatest impact in his life both in his family and as a physician has been diabetes inspiring him to give his patients some useful tools to help them manage this chronic condition.

He has been a regular speaker for the American Diabetes Association speaking at its annual Expo speaking about “Diabetes in the African American Community” as well as “Diet and Diabetes”. His passion to empower patients with knowledge was the driving force behind his desire to become an author and write about ways diet can help improve not only diabetes but other health conditions as well.

 

He is the father of two young men with one starting college in 2016 and the other in 2017.  He has been happily married for 23 years.

He currently works for Advocate Medical Group (AMG) as a physician, medical director, chair of AMG’s Health Outcomes Committee, and Vice Chair of the  Governing Council.  His roles has uniquely prepared his to have the insight to help lead his patients, family, and colleagues.  He regularly partners with Advocate Health Care’s  editorial team to write article for health e-news.
